Waiver

By entering into the four digital realms of the platforms used by the BodySleuth Project (Gather.Town, Discord, Zoom, and Padlet) you consent to receive and exchange communication with the designers, performers, and participants of this experience. 

As a participant, you will be asked to engage in nightly performances that involve moving a 2D avatar around a digital space to find objects and to interact with participants and performers. The digital spaces require use of Google Chrome or Firefox on a computer, and the use of a webcam and microphone is highly recommended. We ask that you turn on your camera and mute your mic until it is needed as much as possible to replicate the experience of witnessing and being seen in nondigital spaces (as if you are in the same physical space as the other participants). Use of your camera and mic is always up to your own discretion. 

You will also be asked to pick up, move around, and interact with objects from the BodySleuth Box (or package of packages) that was mailed or hand delivered to you. We are not responsible for any damages to the contents of the package while in transit or your choice of interaction with the objects. You agree to take full responsibility for any injuries, damages, illnesses, or other potential risks involved in engaging with the contents. Interaction with all objects is highly encouraged and completely optional. What you eat and what you light on fire is of your own volition and you will not hold the Body Sleuth Project or any of its affiliates liable for your choices. 

To receive rewards in this game, you will be asked to collect gems for three kinds of magic that exist in this virtual world. Gems will be tallied based on the information you post in Discord using a simple copy and paste code or a written response. Two of the methods for receiving gems are obvious, one is obtuse. All will affect the final outcome of what happens on the island and your experience within it.

There may be some profanity in parts of the performance as a means of self expression by the Rolyrbee Guardians. This is a highly improvisational performance, which means that while the BodySleuth Project has offered a list of recommended participant activities to the Rolyrbee Guardians, we are not responsible for their words or actions. No nudity, violence, self-harm, or derogatory activities will be asked of participants or performed by the Rolyrbee Guardians.

We welcome feedback, anonymous and named, throughout your experience. Participants are welcome to register concerns with the BodySleuth Project production team under the discord #help channel at any time or fill out the form under the #help channel for anonymity.

Occasional shade does come with the territory of the space you are about to enter, but bigotry, cruelty, or hate speech of any kind will be unquestionable cause for you to be immediately catapulted from the highest peak of the Mystic Mountains, forcibly dissolved and resolidified through the portal, and crash landed to a very uncomfortable patch of ancient cacti in the nearest desert. There is a zero tolerance policy in this performance and project for racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, xenophobia, or any other kind of discrimination. Violation of this policy means you will be blocked on all channels of all virtual platforms involved in this project, as well as any possibility for participation in future visits to Rolyrbee.

In the nightly performances, you will be asked to move your body in thoughtful and creative ways. We encourage you to move your body as much or as little as you desire. You are asked to honor your own inner authority and your inner guidance as you move through this project. We are not responsible for any injuries that may occur as a result of your participation in your earth-bound environment. Everything we offer is invitation for self discovery, growth, and pleasure, for you to consider and experiment with in your own way. You know your own boundaries and physical and emotional limitations - respect and honor your needs and please take care of your own experience.

You are encouraged throughout the week to engage and interact with the other humans in your cabin and aboard the S.S. Myst Awry ship. We ask that you enjoy your virtual companionship by being considerate, respectful, and kind in your communications. 

You are entering a queer space, where the voices of queer and marginalized voices are centered in this experience. We use the term "queer" as an umbrella term for all those who do not participate in compulsive heterosexuality and/or normative expressions of gender and sexuality. This experience is for all those who identify as being Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, Two Spirit, Nonbinary, Genderfluid, Pansexual, etc. and their invited allies. We continue to educate ourselves on the ever expanding umbrella, and we encourage you to do so too. This project is for all those who resonate under the queer umbrella, who identify with queer culture & community, and who uplift the radical inclusion and transformation of queerness in their cultures. Please be conscious of the ways your privileges and intersections of various identities inform and shape the physical and virtual environment.

We ask that you do not copy or share any material from this experience. All material will be used for development of future iterations of this performance, and your sworn secrecy of precise details and outcomes is crucial to the success of this project. You are highly encouraged to post glowing reviews, textual highlights of your time here, and photos/screenshots of YOUR SELF only with physical/virtual objects using #BodySleuth and #Rolyrbee on any social media platforms. Do not share links/URLs from this project, screen recordings, audio, video, visual, or text files, images or conversations with other participants or performers, names, or any other kind of identifiers from your experience for the general safety and concerns of privacy and copyright of all involved.

This project will be documented in video, audio, and textual form for archival and marketing purposes. We encourage leaning in to alter ego identities, costumes, etc as a rule of general mischief but especially if you have any privacy concerns. Only the names you use as identifiers in Discord and Gather.Town will be used. If you wish to opt out or be blurred out from this documentation for either archival or marketing, please mention so in the form below. We recommend exchanging contact info beyond the platforms used for gameplay for personal or private conversations - the production team does have access to all channels in Discord and spaces in Gather.Town. We will never share or sell information for commercial or corporate interests (we are truly in this for the love of connecting humans together and building community) but you should perhaps read the privacy and data statements used by these apps if you have further privacy concerns. 

Nightly duration: 1 hour at a set time every night of 5pm PST / 6pm MST / 7pm CST / 8pm EST. Expect 5 minutes to enter the space, 15-30 minutes of guided activities, and 15-25 minutes of interaction with other players. This time will not be altered or modified. There are no make up sessions, no ways to participate in it after the fact. FOMO is real. If you are late, the Guardians will not be pleased, but you can find other team members in your cabin or group to catch you up.

By participating in this performance, you hereby acknowledge that nothing contained in this experience will constitute financial, investment, legal, psychological, physical, and/or other professional advice and that no professional relationship of any kind is created between you and the BodySleuth Project, performers, designers, or players. You hereby agree that you will not make any financial, investment, legal, physical, and/or other decision based in whole or in part on anything contained in any of the online platforms or experiences that are a part of this project.

The BodySleuth Project is not responsible or liable in any manner for any Content posted on our Website, Platforms, or in connection with our Project, whether posted or caused by Players of our Project, or by The BodySleuth Project production and performance team. Although we provide rules for Player conduct and postings, we do not control and are not responsible for what Players post, transmit, or share on our Website or Platforms, and are not responsible for any offensive, inappropriate, obscene, unlawful, or otherwise objectionable content you may encounter using our Website or Platforms. The BodySleuth Project and its affiliates are not responsible for the online or offline conduct of any User of our Website or Services. 

Under no circumstances will the BodySleuth Project be responsible for any loss or damage, including any loss or damage, personal injury, or death resulting from anyone’s use of our Website or Platforms, or any interactions between Users of our Website or Services, whether online or offline.
